We only had a day to spend in the beautiful city of Rome, which it’s not fair, we know. Definitely will get back and enjoy for more days Italy’s capital. But here is what you can do in a day, just to get a glimpse of the city life and it’s many attractions:
- Start with visiting Vatican. We were there first time in the morning and there were no waiting lines.
- Then take the metro to Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi). By the time you get here, it’s a bit crowded, but you can get a few nice pictures even so, with no extra effort, by searching for the light angles (see below).
- From there, we went by foot towards the Colosseum. This way you can discover the city by foot and it really pays off, the sights are wonderful. You get the see the Ancient Ruins in a mixture of old and new lively activities.
The food is very good and also the desserts, but make sure to avoid as always the tourist traps (that is when the waiters are usually pulling you in or popping a menu in your face on the street). After lunch make sure you have one ristretto.
