Introduction

Nestled in the heart of the Swiss Alps, Glacier 3000 stands as a testament to the natural beauty and grandeur of the mountainous landscapes. Located near the picturesque town of Gstaad, Glacier 3000 offers an unparalleled alpine experience. The mountain captivates the hearts of nature enthusiasts, adventure seekers, and anyone in search of a truly extraordinary destination.

We went there for a day on the slopes, going all in, with a hard day on the legs, with almost 9.000 meters vertical descent over 42 kilometers.

Getting to Glacier 3000

You can arrive to Glacier 3000 by car or by bus. Here is the exact Google Maps location. The parking is free, but make sure you get there early as it can be full very fast, especially during the weekends.

Next to the parking area, you can find the Restaurant Col du Pillon, where we had a great lunch. Also next to parking space you will find the gondola building where you can buy tickets directly at the counter. In 2024 a ticket for an adult costs CHF 75. For more price ranges and details you can check directly their website: Tickets and Prices – Glacier3000.

Breathtaking views from the peak

Upon reaching the summit, via two very large gondolas, visitors are greeted with a 360-degree panorama of snow-capped peaks that stretch as far as the eye can see. The iconic Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, and Jungfrau are among the famous peaks visible from this vantage point, creating a mesmerizing backdrop for a day filled with exploration and wonder.

Glacier 3000 is a year-round destination, offering lots of activities catering to both summer and winter enthusiasts. During the snowy months, the region transforms into a winter wonderland, becoming a heaven for skiing and snowboarding. In the summer, the glacier unveils a different kind of beauty, with hiking trails and bike trails that lead to captivating viewpoints and pristine alpine lakes.

The peak walk by Tissot: spectacular suspension bridge

One of the standout attractions at Glacier 3000 is the Peak Walk by Tissot, the world’s first suspension bridge connecting two mountain peaks. As you traverse this engineering marvel, suspended at an altitude of 3,000 meters, the adrenaline rush is matched only by the awe-inspiring vistas that unfold beneath your feet. There are many tourists that come here only for the peak walk, even during winter season. However, we recommend that you check the weather forecast before planning your trip, as it can be that it’s cloudy up there and then the views might not match your expectations.

Conclusion
